Working together, we brought Oonumuri to life

Oonumuri began with a simple but meaningful idea shared by the client. A space rooted in the feeling of coming together, much like a traditional Kerala home where food, stories, and people meet at the centre.

Taking that thought forward, we started exploring what that "centre" could look like visually. Kept coming back to the idea of a shared table — something familiar. The logo was then imagined as a top view of this space, where everything naturally gathers.

The muri (room) became a key element in the design — interpreted as a symbol of opening doors, welcoming people in, and creating a sense of belonging. The two "O"s evolved into a top view of plates, subtly bringing in the idea of food as a connector.

The typography was intentionally kept slightly quirky and hand-drawn, with uneven edges and an organic flow. It softens the identity, making it feel more human, lived-in and approachable.

The colours draw from instinct and memory — red oxide floors, warm wooden surfaces and soft off-white walls.

While the form is clean and contemporary, the spirit remains rooted in tradition, community, and togetherness.

At its heart, Oonumuri is a visual translation of the client's idea — shaped into something warm and intentional.
